Fraser Pollock - Story with Cornerstone Multifamily Inc.

Hi Everyone, I am Fraser Pollock! I am an Electrical Engineer and honored to be a member of the Deal Acquisitions Team at Cornerstone Multifamily Inc. I am happy to share my journey thus far with you.

It’s 2019 and I’m a 2 year full time employee at a Controls & Automation company, working 90 hour weeks. I was working all these hours and quickly realized I needed to put my hard earned money to work. I had no investment experience, no rich family member, and no family in real estate. The combination of the above would prevent many people from turning their dreams into a reality. This did not stop me and only pushed me to want it even more.

I educated myself about real estate investing by attending seminars and listening to podcasts. While working at the age of 25, I built up enough courage to purchase my first investment property close to my hometown. I self-managed this property to further develop my property management knowledge and immerse myself in real estate investing. I became obsessed with real estate and continued educating myself, while networking with accomplished investors.

After working 8am-5pm or longer, I continued to work 5pm-10pm to build my real estate portfolio. I went from having no real estate connections or social media following to utilizing my power team, partners, and helping to educate others along my journey of purchasing more buildings. My next multifamily acquisition involved a Joint Venture (JV) Partnership with a fellow real estate investor, where we continued to learn while enjoying the process. This illustrates how small, consistent steps accumulate to big actions, in order to achieve your goals and dreams!

I continue to educate myself by networking, attending seminars, and joining various groups. I was introduced to John through a real estate investor couple, prior to the development of Cornerstone Multifamily Inc. John and I grew to better know each

other, where John invited me to a multifamily investing weekend seminar. During and upon this seminar, John openly invited me into his mentorship group where I was greeted with a warm welcome from other young real estate entrepreneurs. This was the early beginnings of what we now know as Cornerstone Multifamily Inc. where John was brainstorming a concept that none of us have heard of. Cornerstone Multifamily Inc. is not only a group of real estate investors that purchase buildings but rather a mentorship first and foremost, while providing education and improving the communities we invest in. This is a great example of networking and being yourself with every interaction because you never know when the next door will open or what the next door will present. With the creation of Cornerstone Multifamily Inc. I am willingly and continuously expanding my real estate knowledge while sharing this knowledge with others as my way of giving back. I continue to build and improve on various aspects of real estate investing from sourcing deals to process development. With these systems in place, it allows for effective and efficient streamlined processes that make all aspects of real estate investing enjoyable and is repeatable for future acquisitions.

Each project undertaken has allowed for us to take lessons learned and incorporate them into systems, as part of risk mitigation for the next transaction. Taking action can be a daunting leap, but this is where I absolutely learned the most. I’ve gained experience in a variety of real estate aspects from contracts/agreements to the development of power teams to understanding tenant and community needs to name a few.

I am thrilled to be a part of Cornerstone Multifamily Inc. due to the various experiences of the group and being surrounded by like minded individuals. This group of individuals have a diverse skill set from various walks of life, which is essential for real estate investing as a large portion of this is teamwork. I am extremely thankful and excited to see where Cornerstone Multifamily Inc. goes in the next few years and beyond, as we are achieving great things in a very short time frame!
